Alloy 1.4362 (2304) is a well known grade in the flat products range, where the grade has been used successfully for many years.
The corrosion resistance of 1.4362, combined with superior tensile values makes the grade suitable for use as reinforcement in concrete located in aggressive environments, where the structures are affected by carbonation and chloride penetration.
Arminox 1.4362 shows good corrosion resistance in alkaline concrete solutions and, in presence of carbonated solutions and/or with high chloride ion concentrations. In experiments, it was found that the corrosion resistance of Arminox 1.4362 is similar or better than 304L or 316L stainless steels, when examined in solutions simulating the concrete pore liquid. An additional advantage of using Arminox 1.4362 over austenitic alloys is its excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Arminox 1.4362 reinforcement bars (rebar) and coils are according to the mechanical and fatigue property requirements of BS6744:2016 Grade 500.
Arminox 1.4362 duplex stainless steel reinforcing bars are produced under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certified by CARES. The quality management system scheme monitors the production of the reinforcing bar and ensures that materials remain within the limits of BS6744:2016.
Arminox 1.4362 is available in coils, rebars and stirrups manufactured according to customer specifications.
